PENTA has installed corrosion resistant coatings on a turnkey basis in energy intensive industries where severe corrosion and abrasion create losses from increasing maintenance costs and lost productivity. Addressing corrosion before it starts maximizes equipment longevity and return on investment.

PENTA’s consultants will assess the extent of your corrosion, uncover the root causes, and then provide you with the alternatives that best suit your plant’s budget and requirements. The installation of corrosion resistant coatings will extend the life of your equipment, and is the best option in certain cases. Occasionally, the corrosion is so severe the best alternative is to line your baghouse with stainless steel or even to replace the equipment completely. Each project will be provided a tailored solution.

If a corrosion resistant coating is found to be the optimal solution, then PENTA will utilize state of the art technologies to address the corrosion.

The corrosion resistant coatings effectively resist the following:

  • Corrosion caused by attack from SO2, SO3, HCl, NOx, and CO2in moist and low pH environments
  • Corrosion in high temperature environments with normal operating temperatures up to 1100°F
  • Undercut corrosion: Strong bonding to the substrate ensures localized mechanical damage will not cause system failure
  • Thermal shock: The corrosion resistant coatings mirror the thermal expansion/contraction of the substrate they are bonded to
  • Fine particle abrasion

We have completed applications of corrosion resistant coatings in very aggressive environments ranging from baghouses, stacks, and downcomer ducts to pre-scrubber ducts, fan housings, and kiln shells.

Many of these applications were completed during plant outages with our crews working a 24/7 schedule. We understand how to efficiently operate in a shutdown environment in tight timeframes.

Quality is also key. NACE International and The Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) guidelines are strictly followed in addition to manufacturer specifications.
